Yesenia •  16" x 20" • oil on canvas • June 2012

2 week pose. Shadow coming in from the right not on actual painting. Can anyone recommend a camera that does not cause distortion for under $500-600?

You have such an impressive body of work. Your such a talent and I am so happy to be able to paint with you this summer. Awesome work!

I make distortion corrections in Photoshop:
1. outline distorted art with polygonal lasso, breaking curves into as many straight-line segments as necessary
2. snap guides to outmost curves of lasso selection
3. use transform/warp to pull art to line up with guides
4. deselect corrected shape, reselect along guides with rectangular marquee tool, and crop. (CS4)

I tried it out, thanks so much! I had been using the lens correction filter in PS.

I work at an art gallery. When we shoot the incoming art, we set the camera farther back than you would think. I then zoom in and it is straighter on the edges than it is when you are closer.
Good luck.
